Savoury French toast, last Sunday’s lazy breakfast.
The bread was soaked in a chickpea flour/rice milk/nutritional yeast/salt/pepper batter before being fried until golden. Served with hot sauce and my date and apple chutney.
Vegan French toast with caramelised baked bananas, flaked almonds and maple syrup.
Breakfast in the backyard yesterday with Tim and Riva. I made the toast batter out of 1/3 cup chickpea flour, rice milk and a slpash of coconut cream. I’d been craving this for weeks, and it’s also a great way to use up stale bread.
The bananas I just covered inbrown suger and whacked under the grill until the sugar melted. So fucking good.
